species OF
organ pipes national park

The Park has been used as a sanctuary for many species that have been cleared from the surrounding areas because of the spreading urban development. The following species lists were last updated in 1991, and were compiled from records kept by Barry Kemp, Rosemary Myers, L. Jolley and Keith McDougall. They are not an accurate depiction of the current Park ecosystem: many species may no longer be found in the Park, and new species may have since moved in.

Acknowledgement of Country

The Friends of the Organ Pipes National Park pay our respects to the traditional custodians of the land on which we work and volunteer, the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung people of the Kulin Nation. We acknowledge their deep ongoing connection to, and care of, this land. We pay our respects to their Elders past and present, and acknowledge that sovereignty was never ceded.
